I’ve always thought that Hummers would be the ultimate Military Vehicles, but it turns out I was wrong. Take a look at Smart Truck II and Smart Truck III. Both are built by ICRC Solutions, a company that specializes in this kind of…stuff…heck, I don’t even know what this is called, it is so clouded in newspeak that it is hard to put a finger on what they are actually doing. Here is a snip from their Advanced Vehicle Technologies page:
ICRC’s Advanced Vehicle Technologies (AVT) division specializes in the development and enhancement of technologies for the government and commercial clients. The AVT division offers its customers a unique combination of program management and technical expertise, managing complex projects from start to finish. ICRC has provided extensive systems integration work for the U.S. Army’s SmarTruck™ program. SmarTruck III includes state-of-the-art communications and detection systems, while offering uparmored protection to withstand attacks.
So, this could be anything. This what it actually means:
The ST 2 fires Spike missiles that feature a ‘Fire and Forget‘ mode. This simply means that the user of such a missile merely has to fire it, and then can forget about it and it will still correctly strike the target. The military use the term for a type of missile which does not require further guidance after launch such as illumination of the target, and can hit its target without the launcher being in line of sight of the target. The pepper spray and the electricaly charged door handles are not mentioned, but hey!
