English Russia posted a number of vintage postcards with photographs taken by Sergey Ivanovich Borisov taken during his expedition across mountain areas of Altai (1907-1914). Sadly, I couldn’t find more info on Borisov, so if you come across anything, let me know.
The images are pretty amazing, not only because they remind me of the photographs taken in North America in the nineteenth century, but also because the offer a glimpse into a culture no absolutely nothing about. Damn, some of the photographs really look as if they’ve been taken in the Rockies…
